The Weather Man Mentioned Snow: Jesse Winchester Blows South, Back Home

by Nashville Skyline on December 25, 2008

in 1960's, 1970's

Everyone’s second favorite Canadian-turned-pseudo-Southerner (after Neil Young, of course!), Robbie Robertson, plays and shares a single songwriting credit on this 1970 first effort from everyone’s favorite Southerner-turned-Canadian, Jesse Winchester. Along with Levon Helm, Robertson’s fellow The Band-mate, and a few other crack musicians, Winchester lays down a hearty mix of rockers (”Payday”), ballads (”The Brand New Tennessee Waltz”), and mid-tempo numbers (”Rosy Shy”). Music warm enough for any winter, American or Canadian.
